The fitness industry has seen tremendous change over the past ten years and we have led from the front growing 5x in that time in terms of gyms from being based in the UK to expanding across Denmark, Switzerland and last year launching in the USA and Saudi Arabia with our new franchise offering. The Property function at PureGym is a hugely exciting place to work with the eyes of the whole business upon you. Our ambitious growth strategy means that this function is critical in ensuring the overall company delivers its objectives.
The team has a broad range of roles across Acquisitions, Development and Estates teams. More specifically this provides opportunities for Acquisition Managers, Development Project Managers, Architects and Technicians, Designers, Quantity Surveyors, Technical Specialist roles, and Estates Managers.
With over 300 existing sites being managed and a further 300 within our sights, there's always plenty to get your teeth into. Our new site rollout and refurbishment programmes are hugely important as we seek to optimise pace, quality and cost to deliver our fantastic gyms to our operations colleagues and of course to our members. Based in our Leeds offices, we are responsible for PureGym’s branding, member communications, acquisition campaigns, new gym openings, and supporting the wider business to achieve its objectives. We use the full range of marketing channels and leading-edge technologies, driven by specialist sub-teams such as Brand and Communications, Digital Marketing, CRM, Local Marketing, and we were the first in our industry to build a full-service in-house creative studio with designers, videographers, and a content team fuelling our brand growth.

The Finance department at PureGym offers a broad range of opportunities for high-caliber individuals who are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You don’t have to love fitness, just love the job and the company!
The function comprises numerous sub-teams within Financial Control (management and financial accounts, purchase ledger, revenue collection, payroll) and within Commercial Finance (FP&A, business partnering and decision support, and membership system configuration expertise) who work collectively to provide quality support (and challenge!) to the rest of the business.
The team is spread across our Leeds and London offices (primary location depends on team/role) with all teams coming together as required. Finance is a hugely valued function at PureGym with many of the team being publicly recognised as award winners in our annual awards ceremonies – we don’t hide in the background!

Strategic Business Development is a small team with a big role, delivering strategic development initiatives that will fuel the ambitious growth plans that we have as a business. Our current core activity includes: International expansion through Franchise and Owned gyms - we have just opened our first locations in the Middle East followed by our first three owned gyms in America! The world of Digital Fitness, including our award-winning App. And Strategic Sustainability, which is an area of immense importance to a business with a conscience.
But we also need to be ready to pivot to new business opportunities, so challenge and fresh thinking are always on our agenda. We are a high-performing team with diverse skills. We see ourselves as the ‘swiss army knife’ of PureGym, we usually have the tools to deal with any task that comes our way. But if we do not, we are used to finding another way to achieve it. The team is multi-disciplinary covering areas such as business and digital development, marketing, analysis, Information technology, intellectual property, and concept. But we also work collaboratively with our colleagues across the business to benefit from our fantastic in-house expertise.

Operations is the heart of what PureGym offers – exceptional member experience to over 1 million members across our 300+ gyms (and growing!) 24/7/365. We define and deliver the PureGym experience consistently and to a high standard day in and day out. We are the front-line team that never stands still, driving continuous improvement to ensure we stay ahead.
Central Operations groups into four main areas:
- The people and processes that define our core operating model, ensuring that the ‘PureGym experience’ feels the same from Inverness to Plymouth and everywhere in between. From our supportive team of Managers and Fitness Coaches on hand to welcome existing and new members, to our industry-leading Group Fitness offering, and Personal Trainers to support our members reach their goals
- Design, installation, and maintenance of the physical infrastructure in our gyms – everything that you can see and touch, from the gym equipment and layout to safety mitigations and CCTV, keeping everybody safe in our gyms
- Delivery of the ‘extras’ – vending machines to massage chairs, sports water to body composition machines. If you see it, it’s ops
- Operational improvement projects to drive efficiencies and innovate the way we do things – be it retendering multimillion-pound contracts or implementing new systems to drive more efficient ways of working. We are not afraid to try new things, fail sometimes, and learn fast. We are deep in the detail and strive for continuous improvement, learning from the information and data to hand. Safety and compliance sit at the centre of what we do, and the team upholds our industry-leading TrainSafe Commitment – our propriety safety framework centering around physical safety and security, cleanliness & hygiene, and the welcoming, judgement-free treatment of everyone.
Central Operations partners closely with the Gym Operations leadership team, who ensure we meet our high-quality service standards, driving best practices across all gyms, managing and supporting our Gym Management and Fitness Teams to be the best they can be.

PureGym’s Commercial team sits at the heart of decision-making for the Group, working in close partnership with all areas of the business to make improvements for both PureGym and for our members. The core functions of the Commercial team are Revenue Management, Member Feedback, and Insight and Analytics; in combination, these functions set best practices in Pricing, Product Development, Member Experience and Competitor Strategy, and ensure we are being data-led in every decision we make.
We are a small and highly collaborative function, with team members sitting in the UK, Denmark, and Switzerland; as a geographically diverse team, we are in constant communication with each other, leveraging the scale and breadth of our business to find synergies and share learnings across our operating markets.
We are obsessed with data; we combine our market-leading analytics capabilities with a specialised and highly skilled team to continually improve and optimise our proposition and outperform our competition. Our team has a wide range of business and consulting experience, which allows us to look outside the ‘four walls’ of the fitness industry, and drive PureGym to be more innovative as we scale up.
