PureGym inspiring member story

I've been in a wheel chair for nearly 8 years. I put on a couple of dress sizes so I started training at PureGym with David, my personal trainer, because I wanted to lose weight. In a year I found that I was more capable than I first thought. I can now take all the weight on my arms and it feels as though I am standing. This made me remember how tall I actually was. Together me and David have achieved more than I thought was possible.

I'm a University student at Manchester Met. I've been training at PureGym for 2 and a half years now after trying many other gyms. The PureGym I go to is open 24/7 which means I can go when I want whilst balancing university and part time work. Working out at PureGym has helped improve my strength and athletic performance, which has enabled me to play top level rugby league. I find getting a workout in really helps to set me up for a productive day.

I started going to the gym as my weight loss stalled so exercising in the gym was a good step for me to take. Working out helps to me give me routine and discipline which has also helped me in other areas of my life. Since going to the gym I have lost a considerable amount of weight, and more importantly, I'm healthier and stronger. My Personal Trainer has really helped with my confidence by knowing what to do in the gym and with support and motivation.
