Hello! My name is Sophie and I’m one of the Personal Trainers here at PureGym York.
Having battled with an eating disorder and restrictive eating for most of my early 20’s and late teens I have become hugely passionate about helping people to break free from the vicious diet cycle, and restore their relationship with their body, fitness and food.
Wellbeing is at the heart of all the work I do as a personal trainer. By shifting my mind-set from weight loss to wellbeing I was able to transform the negative relationship I had with myself, my body and food.
I strongly believe that the key to positive change lies in learning how to reconnect and work in sync with our bodies instead of fighting against them.
I am not here to preach a method, diet or a quick transformation. Instead, my ultimate goal as a personal trainer is to help you start your journey to becoming a happier, healthier version of yourself.
Whether you’re new to the gym and need help getting started or you need help progressing your current training, I’m here to guide you. I will aid you in setting realistic goals and provide progressive, fun and stimulating sessions to help you achieve them.
