Ellie Donaldson
After completing the first year of my HND fitness, health, and exercise qualification I decided that I wanted to pursue a career within the fitness industry. This is when I decided that personal training was the best option for me as I felt so passionate about helping others achieve their goals. I then successfully competed my level 3 personal training qualification with Edinburgh college.
When I was in my early teens, I struggled a lot with my body image which really affected me mentally as I lacked a lot of self confidence. When I was around 15 years old, I identified that this was an issue and decided to make a change, which is when I started my fitness journey. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to get to a position where I felt healthy and comfortable within myself, but it was 100% worth it. Becoming dedicated to my fitness journey helped to improve my physical health as I lost weight and became stronger, but it also helped my mental health as it gave me structure, something to focus on and confidence. As someone that has and still is struggling with my mental health, I feel that I can relate to others who may be in the same position. Having such experience helps me to connect with others and understand how their mental health may affect their fitness journey.
Now I am working on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, continuing with weight training to gain muscle and to progress with my Olympic lifting.
Now that I have seen how much fitness can help to improve someones physical and mental health i feel that it is time that I helped others to use fitness to help them become the best version of themselves!
If your ready to make a change but need that little push, then feel free to contact me and I’ll be more than happy to help!
